In order to keep abreast of the latest developments and thinking in audiology internationally, Heidi always tries to attend the American Academy of Audiology Annual Conference every 2-3 years, time and funds allowing. The AAA conference is the world’s largest and the leading gathering of audiologists in the world.

The AAA 2018 was held from 18-21 April at the Music City Center in Nashville. This annual meeting provides participants the opportunity to attend four days of educational sessions, explore the latest in hearing technology, and network with colleagues from around the world.
Heidi has been a member of the American Academy of Audiology for many years and together with Professor De Wet Swanepoel of the University of Pretoria appeared to be the only South Africans attending this year.
